The Reason Why The FUE Technique Is Preferred. After the hair transplanting operation, people can have their hair cut, once their hair grows back.
Follicular unit extraction (FUE) is the latest hair transplantation technique used in Turkey and in the world. It is a beneficial technique that helps achieve natural results both in taking the hair follicles and in transplanting them. As in most of the hair transplantation techniques, FUE is the process of transferring the live hair follicles taken from the hairy region one by one to the hairless region.
Unlike the FUT method, in this method, the follicular units (grafts) are directly removed from the scalp by special punches and micro-motors. This method is known as "non-invasive". In FUE technique, no scalpel is used in the donor region, no stitches are not inserted, and there is no visible mark left in the area where the follicles are taken. Without any complications, the patients can get their hair back and continue their daily life.
While the extraction methods are different in FUE and FUT, the placement of the obtained follicles onto their new places is completely the same. With FUE technique, 1500-8000 Follicular unit grafts(3750-20000)hair follicles can be transplanted in one session. The reasons why Follicular Unit Extraction is preferred: After the operation of the hair transplantation and after the growing of the hair, the patients can have their hair cut short.
Depending on the anatomy of the region in which the hair is transplanted and from which the hair follicles are taken, there are no marks left. One should prefer FUE technique for the areas with thinning hair. It is also a suitable method for people who have thinning in the temporal area. It can be successfully applied to the areas with no hair, caused by burns, as well as to the beard and mustache areas.
It is a technique that should be preferred especially in eyebrow transplantation. As a result of removing cuts from the hair follicles in the nape region, it is successfully applied in closing scars formed in the nape region. With the FUE technique, only the area between the two ears allows hair follicles to be removed.
Steps of the FUE operation: It consists of 3 steps.
1. STEP It takes about 10 minutes. It starts with trimming the hair in the nape area first. The reason is: For the hair follicles to be taken individually from the donor area using the micromotor, the hair must be shortened by 0.3 mm. Anesthetizing the area where hair follicles will be taken using local anesthetic medicines (jetokain, citanes and marcaine)
2. STEP It takes about 2 hours on average. It is the process of taking hair follicles one by one with a micro motor. While taking the hair follicles, 0.8-1 mm punches should be used on the micromotor tip. 1,2,3 grafts should be taken with 0.8 mm punches.
For a natural look, the planting of the 1s should be performed on the fore hairline. 2 and 3 grafts must be planted after 1 grafts in order to have a thick and dense hair result. Your hair follicles should be placed in groups of 100 or 200 in a special solution once the removing process of the follicles are completed so that you can count your hair follicles. 3. Before the third step, the patient is given a meal and a toilet break.
3.STEP It takes 1.5 hours on average You create your frontal hairline with your doctor. You decide once again about the distribution of the hair follicles that will be planted. Starting from the area where your defined frontal hairline is located to the area to be planted is completely numbed using local anesthetic drugs. After the calculation of the diameter of your hair follicles and the depths of your hair follicles, using the lateral slit specially prepared for your hair follicles, the canals are opened. Opening the canals is the most important part of hair transplantation.
Why is the Canal Opening Operation So Important?
1. In order for the hair follicles to be fed, it is necessary that the grafts to which the hair follicles are to be inserted must be at the size of he micro-cuts (canals).
2. The micro-incisions in which hair follicles are to be placed must be opened in the direction of the existing hair before shedding.
3.The diameter and length of the hair follicles taken from the donor area should be calculated. The diameter and length of the lateral slit used to open the canals should be adjusted. Custom canal openers should be used.
4. The angles of the grafts to be transplanted must be adjusted by experienced specialists, taking into account the head structure of the person and the area that needs transplantation. The angle of the canals to be opened where the front hairline is located should be 45 degrees forward, the sides (golfers) should be 45 degrees forward, and both sides should be opened at 45 degrees forward to the side.
